Ports and Dry Ports as Logistics Hubs

Ports and Dry Ports as Logistics Hubs

A port is no longer just a place where ships arrive.

It is a logistics hub, and its architecture needs to work accordingly.

Hirtshals Port is set for a DKK 740 million expansion, reflecting the changing role of modern ports.

We have been involved in several ports and dry ports projects, and our view is simple: port planning starts with understanding how everything works together, not just the buildings.

How goods move. How buildings connect. How the site can adapt as logistics evolve.

When these things are considered from the start, architecture becomes part of the logistics – supporting the flows rather than getting in their way.

Hirtshals shows the potential of rethinking what a port can be.
