In connection with the renovation and expansion of Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort, Norrplan also designed an accompanying wellness and spa centre. The client’s wish was to give the area a luxurious feel through colours, shapes, light, smells and experiences. The spa is sectioned in three departments; ground floor, first floor and an outdoor area. On the first floor you have the reception with a beautiful view to Sjørup Lake from a large window section that folds-up. In this way, the reception functions like a large interior balcony during the summer period. The spa facilities include hammam bath, Kneipp Kanal, bio sauna, steam bath, relax bath, spa and salt-water bath. The wet area is decorated with a salt-water aquarium and a large gas fireplace, and is overlooking the neighbouring swimming basin.

Light, feminine colours, luxurious materials and soft, organic shapes mark the spa area. The outdoor area is designed as a cosy courtyard with aromatic flowerbeds, spa, Finnish sauna and a cold-water bath dug into the ground.
