Resource-conscious Design Approach
PostNord has opened a new TPL (third-party logistics) warehouse in Køge, which is now one of Denmark’s largest TPL units measured by pallet and storage capacity. This construction increases PostNord’s storage capacity by 50%, significantly boosting Danish e-commerce.
Located in the strategically advantageous Scandinavian Transport Center in Køge, the warehouse was developed with investment bank Pareto Securities as the developer and landlord. The building comprises 25,400 m² of storage space, a mezzanine of 4,600 m², and 800 m² of administration, totaling 30,800 m².
The design of the warehouse combines aesthetics and functionality with a facade of exposed concrete elements and anthracite gray steel sandwich panels. An overhang marks the administration on the first floor, while vertical window bands from floor to ceiling divide the building’s long facade.
The project has been executed with a resource-conscious approach, optimizing costs. Safety is paramount, with the separation of trucks, cars, cyclists, and pedestrians, as well as separate entrances and zones for office staff and warehouse workers. This ensures an efficient and safe working environment, which is essential for investors and project managers.
