Reitan Distribution Horsens

Fully Automatic High-bay Warehouses and Return Terminal

Norwegian Reitan Distribution, known as REMA 1000, has expanded their logistics facilities in Horsens with the construction of two fully automated high-rise warehouses. The warehouse buildings cover a total floor area of 29,000 m² and reach heights of up to 35 meters. These high-rises serve as a central dry goods terminal for all REMA 1000 stores in Denmark.

As part of the expansion, additional structures were built, including warehouse halls, warehouse offices, kitchen facilities, office and administrative spaces, along with associated traffic and parking areas. The administrative areas add another 2,000 m². To promote sustainability, 19,300 m² of solar panels were installed on the rooftops of the buildings.

The project also included a 17,000 m² return terminal located in the southwestern corner of the site. This terminal is used by Reitan Group for storing empty pallets, milk crates, and other recyclable materials from REMA 1000 stores. The majority of the terminal is leased to Euro Pool System, which installed a comprehensive, fully automated washing facility for plastic containers.
