Optimal utilization of daylight and the scenic location
In front of JYSK’s distribution warehouse in Uldum lies the adjoining administration building. The compact volume and rational cubic form are broken up by small facade projections with refined cornices, which, together with the building’s black zinc panels on the facade, provide a refined and exclusive expression in contrast to the warehouse’s coarser facade design.
The administration is organized around a large three-story atrium that serves as the arrival area for the entire administration building. The atrium’s round skylights create a pleasant daylight in the arrival area and the surrounding common areas, which are openly connected to the atrium.
In the common areas, informal meetings can be held in comfortably furnished and zoned rooms. The ground floor houses the large common canteen and the building’s reception. The first and second floors contain offices and meeting rooms, situated with views of the open landscape. Additionally, the second floor has a small hotel section for overnight guests and internal JYSK employees.
