North Jutland Agricultural School, Lundbæk, has undergone extensive renovation and remodelling, including a new entrance, an expanded cafeteria, and renovation of the basement and facades. With an increasing number of students, the pressure on the school’s facilities grew, necessitating an upgrade. The school has been transformed into a modern educational environment that promotes academic excellence, creativity, and social interaction.

The new entrance creates an inviting and prominent arrival, while the sunken courtyard in front of the building invites activities and relaxation. Large glass panels open up the facades and fill the new classrooms with natural light. The cafeteria expansion includes a well-lit dining area with access to a southwest-facing terrace. The new design also better utilizes the basement spaces, which now serve as bright and inviting classrooms.

The project demonstrates how creative landscaping can create new spaces both indoors and outdoors. At the same time, the collaboration between the client, consultants, and contractors has been crucial in fulfilling the school’s vision.

Norrplan was responsible for the development and design of the project and carried out the tender design. During construction, Norrplan acted as client advisor, while BJØRK & MAIGÅRD were responsible for the statutory approval project and the detailed design.
