Ultra Flexible Logistics Construction in Taulov Dry Port
Norrplan has been the architectural consultant on a logistics and administration building at Taulov Dry Port in Fredericia. The project covers approximately 97,700 m² and has been developed with a focus on flexibility, functionality, sustainability and a calm architectural whole.
The building consists of 18 logistics buildings of approximately 5,000 m², each with a mezzanine of approximately 230 m² for administration, which can be rented out independently of the halls. In addition, an independent administration building of approximately 930 m² has been built, rented out even before construction began in conjunction with two warehouse halls.
The appearance of the building adapts to the local plan’s requirements for a harmonious architectural whole in subdued colors and materials in concrete, metal and glass. The materials have been chosen with a view to rational operation and minimal maintenance, with the exposed concrete in particular ensuring a robust facade that patinas beautifully without visible wear.
A common architectural feature is the vertical orientation of the facades. All concrete elements are embossed with vertical grooves, which blur element joints and give the buildings a unified, calm and refined surface with a characteristic, pinstriped expression. With its direct connection to the motorway network, the building functions as a central logistical hub and at the same time appears as a distinctive landmark in the area.
