Huge logistics hub in South Africa
DSV’s logistics centre in Plumbago, South Africa, spanning 120,000 m², is designed to maximize warehouse operation efficiency while promoting sustainability and a healthy working environment. In collaboration with DBM Architects, we have ensured that the visual expression reflects DSV’s global ambitions while being adapted to the local context in South Africa.
The consolidation of facilities—including 79,000 m² for warehousing, 41,000 m² for cross-docking, and 10,000 m² for administration—enables full integration of DSV’s supply chain under one roof. The site is equipped with solar panels, LED lighting with motion sensors, and energy-efficient systems, which lower operational costs and reduce the building’s CO₂ footprint. To further optimize operations, the building incorporates technological solutions such as automated sorting systems, enabling efficient handling of large volumes of goods while increasing warehouse capacity.
The logistics hub is designed as a long-term investment that will generate value for both owners and tenants for many years to come, and meets future demands through efficient, sustainable, and scalable design.
