Development of Harmonious integration of landscape and architecture
Norrplan, in collaboration with DSV, has developed a design proposal for a logistics centre near Hamburg. The goal of the design is to integrate the facility into a green, sustainable solution that aligns with Hamburg’s environmental profile and meets DSV’s requirements for modern logistics. The proposal includes naturally shaped windbreaks, planted corridors, and rooftop greenery that contribute to local biodiversity.
Priority has been given to local vegetation and planting solutions that harmonize with the surrounding environment, as well as implementing rainwater management systems that address the area’s high groundwater level. Rainwater will be delayed and diverted through integrated channels and green areas, while green roofs and solar panels enhance the building’s sustainability.
The architectural concept has also been carefully considered. A combination of materials such as red brick and steel panels ensures the buildings blend naturally into the area, while the strategic placement of façades, windbreaks, and parking creates a harmonious balance between function and aesthetics. With its focus on sustainability, local integration, and innovation, this project will stand as a milestone in DSV’s portfolio of modern, efficient logistics centres.
