Since 2002, Norrplan has designed a wide range of buildings for DSV, building on our expertise in logistics facilities. This long-term collaboration has resulted in the development of a design template for offices, cross-docking terminals, and warehouses, ensuring optimal solutions with a focus on efficiency, cost, and consistency across all DSV facilities. DSV in Ringsted is a good example of one of the many standard projects Norrplan has developed for the group. The classic “pyjama-striped” façades and the black office are some of the characteristic features of a DSV project.

The centre covers 37,600 m², of which 500 square meters are office space spread over two floors, plus a technical floor on the third level.

One of the most striking features is the 23,690 m² sedum roof – Scandinavia’s largest green roof. Since the area is flat and has limited infiltration, the LAR solution had to be rethought, and the green roof became the solution for retaining rainwater. The roof also reduces the calculated paved area from 89% to 60%, ensuring compliance with local planning requirements.

The building has been constructed with a focus on sustainability and aims to achieve DGNB Gold certification. This has required careful attention to both details and documentation. All construction materials from the existing building have been sorted and, where possible, reused in the roadworks for the new logistics centre.

The DSV logistics centre in Ringsted elegantly demonstrates how functionality, sustainability, and a consistent design go hand in hand – a clear result of Norrplan’s long-standing collaboration with DSV.
